[MH3] Alatreon Gunning = Awesomeness

So, I definitely wish that I would have made the Alatreon gunner armor set BEFORE I made the blademaster set--it's definitely way better! You really need it to take advantage of the complete Alatreon bowgun, which is difficult to use without the full Alatreon armor set. Here's my set-up:

Gunner Armor: All Alatreon

Skills from Armor: Bonus Shot, Evasion Up, Blightproof

Skills from Gems: Element Attack Up (and gemmed out Recovery Down, which is a default on the armor)

Gun: All Alatreon (Stock, Barrel, and Frame)

Specialties: Can hold 5 rounds of every element type of ammo (except dragon, which is one round); rapid-fires Dragon Shots; can chamber 5 rounds of Wyvernfire lvl 3 at a time.



As you can see, with Bonus Shot, I fire an extra round of Dragon Shot each time I pull the trigger, which is an extremely powerful and versatile ammo type. Add that with Element Attack Up, and I can knock monsters like Rathalos out of the sky repeatedly. Element Attack Up helps immensely with the guns versatility, since it can fire every element type as well (which makes the gun great for multi-monster quests). And Wyvernfire level 3 is just plain awesome!

Since the Alatreon barrel doesn't have a shield, the armor's Evasion Up skill comes in handy, as it allows me to roll much farther.

Yes, the Barroth one, and of course the deviljho has to join the fun and stays in the same area as the Barroth xD

Haha, running into the Deviljho for the first time like that is frightening, eh? Knowing that there's nothing you can do except run for your life...if you're lucky, though, the Deviljho will get hungry and attack the other main monsters. I've actually seen one kick over a Barroth and eat it to regain stamina, much like a Rathalos would do to an Aptonoth! The Barroth survived, but it didn't take much for us to take it down afterwards!
