[MCT] Building a single player adventure map.
[MCT] Building a single player adventure map.
I recently started working on a adventure map of my own. I'm sure it won't be quite as epic as some, but I'm trying my best. I was wondering if any of ya'll would like to chip in. I could, sometime in the future, send it to Warshod by email, and then we could all take part in it. After we finished, he could simply send it back to me. I'll have to upload some screen shots of what I have so far. Right now, it's in the very early stages of development. I'm sorta building it as a go, but I think I'll sit down and map it out sometime so it has some structure to it.
Map Name: Priest - (Exploring an old underground church)
Object 1: Collect as many diamonds as possible (There are 100 possible diamonds)
Object 2: Escape the church.
I thought it would be cool for our own clan to have a map. I'll make a trailer before the release, and I'm also going to try to make contact with a youtuber such as CaptainSparklez and offer him to play the map (before releasing it to the public). That would be awesome, but I don't know how likely that is. =\.

Sounds cool! You could send it by email if you use winrar and make it into a rar/zip file or something, or you could send it to me and I could put it up on a server...
if Captainsparklez played a map by 'us' that would be so epic
, he does play alot of custom maps, small or large so theres a chance he would.
cant wait to see more of your map.

Sounds like a great idea Kellen! I'd like to get involved with testin' or somethin' like that. I might add, that CaptainSparkelz isn't really the most popular Let's Player or LPer on Youtube for Minecraft. While he is a popular person in the "video game in general" world of Youtube, honestly I hadn't even heard of him until y'all mentioned him awhile back. If you want to get in the "business" of makin' challenge maps, or if you just want publicity for this one, your best route would be to try to get it out to the other big name LPers like Paulsoaresjr, Coestar, Luclin from MinecraftWorkbench, Wolv21, or the guys that do The Shaft Podcast from the Dead Workers Party; the main people that deal with mostly, or completely, with Minecraft. I say that because they would be more open to advertise this map for you since they're more Minecraft oriented than CaptainSparklez. I personally subscribe to Coestar, and Paulsoaresjr and really do enjoy the quality of their videos. I've seen CaptainSparklez' videos and I just can't get into 'em much. He's just outside of the Minecraft LPer group too much. My point is, if you want to get this map out publically really fast to the Minecraft community, the best way to do it would be to try to get one of the LPers I mentioned above to play it and advertise it for you.

Here are some screenshots. These are just the very first challenges so they're pretty small. I'm working on one now that will be pretty big.
Some climbing.

Well surprising myself, you can accomplish a lot when you skip school.
This room took me forever. A lot of the puzzles have yet to be completed, but I think it's coming along quite well. This is also the part that makes this an underground church if you couldn't tell.

Well, it's legit to a certain extent. I started on this room and I gave up. So I installed the fly/build mod. Allows me to glide, which makes the high places a lot easier to access. And the build mod gives me unlimited blocks and allows me to destroy stuff in 1 hit. I turn these on and of. The build mod gets annoying sometimes. So itsss sorta legit. Everything was entirely legit up to that point. Besides the fact that I used Envedit.
