[PS3] Stat Issues on BC2, Will the Problem be Fixed in BF3?

I don't know if any of you has had problems with stats in Bad Company 2, but I know many people who have. When I first got the game, stats worked well, everything always showed up correctly. A few months ago, I could no longer view my stats, but they showed up correctly in game. Today, I got on and everything was reset except for my dog tags. All the weapons I have unlocked were gone, and I was a rank 1 again. Some people say your stats come back, so I'll have to wait and see.

This raises concern for BF3, but I'm hoping it does not have this issue. There are a few ways people said you can fix this. One was restarting the system a few times, but I don't think the system and the stat problem have any connection. I think it has something to do with how it loads your stats when the game starts, so I'm assuming restarting the game multiple times does the same thing as restarting the system. Someone also said the problem was fixed when you switched to a different game mode. It doesn't seem logical, but I haven't tried it yet, so I can't say it doesn't work.
